Olmsted suggested the immediate enlargement of this small park to accommodate playfields and group activities. Olmsted modeled his design after Corbin Park, as both areas were long and flat, and could provide entertainment for visitors of all ages. The report recommended planting ornamental lawns at both ends of the park to suit individuals who looked to parks for scenic beauty.
