Parkade
Designed by Warren C. Heylman and Associates in 1967, the Parkade stands as one of downtown Spokane’s most prominent pieces of modern architecture. Made of poured concrete, the Parkade was constructed in the New Formalism style and is largely utilitarian, with a carefully designed sense of space and an emphasis on vertical lines. The nomination to the National AIA describes the tower on the Parkade as "a beacon…the landmark toward which the parking-destined drivers may guide their cars."
